Joseph J. Hodle, 67, of Webster Street in Pringle died Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born November 10, 1943 in Larksville he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Bryan Hodle.
Joe was a graduate of Saint Vincent's High School in Plymouth.
Joe was employed by New Jersey Transit for thirteen years and later worked for the Luzerne County Transportation Authority until retiring in 2007.
Mr. Hodle was a member of the Parish of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception and NJ Transit Union.
Joe had a deep love for his family and was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Yankees.
A brother, Thomas Hodle preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, the former Geraldine Gordon; sons, Brian Joseph Hodle of Swoyersville and Joseph J. Hodle of Pringle; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Jessica, Aaron and Brianna Hodle; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Damien Eastman; a sister, Mary Catherine Mullery of Plymouth; a brother, Robert Hodle of Florida and nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Joseph’s Life will be held Monday at 9 AM from McLaughlin's Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin’s on Sunday from 4 to 7 PM.
