Joseph T. Quinlan

Joseph T. Quinlan, 75, of Wilkes-Barre died following an illness on July 17, 2018.

Born September 11, 1942 in Wilkes Barre he was a son of the late Thomas J. and Clara Umlah Quinlan.

Joe attended G.A.R. Memorial High School.

Joe enlisted with the United States Marine Corps in 1966. He retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant in 1989 after serving our country for more than twenty-three years, including two tours of duty in Vietnam.

His wife, Shizuko 'Sue' Goya Quinlan, died December 2, 1999. Brothers, Thomas J. and Leo Quinlan also preceded him in death.

Joe will be greatly missed by his daughter, Kaori Mary Gale and her fiance Michael C. Swiderski of Wilkes-Barre; a granddaughter, Sara L. Gale; other family and friends.

Celebration of Joe's Life will begin Sunday with visitation from 2 to 5 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue on Monday with a prayer service and military honors at 1 PM in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.

Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to Wounded Warrior Regiment, Charitable Giving Section, 1998 Hill Avenue MCB Quantico, VA 22134
