Joseph P. Toole, 76, a longtime resident of Hanover Township, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
Born March 14, 1947 in Wilkes-Barre Township he was a son of the late Emmett and Margaret Grasavage Toole.
After graduating from Wilkes-Barre Township High School, Joe began his apprenticeship with IBEW Local 163. He retired as a journeyman electrician after fifty years in the trade.
Joe was a faithful Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception parishioner for many years. He was a fan of Notre Dame football and New York Yankees baseball. He and his late wife, Adrienne, frequently traveled to new destinations worldwide. Joe enjoyed many hunting trips with friends, including two African safaris. He rarely turned down a clay shoot and was a competitive pistol shooter who participated in the NRA Bianchi Cup.
His wife, Adrienne Coffay Toole, died on October 27, 2003. His brother Robert Toole also preceded him in death.
His children, Tara and her husband George Bowers of Hanover Township, Catherine and her husband Robert P. Rinaldi of Sugarloaf, and Joseph E. and his wife Tracy Toole of Mountain Top; grandchildren, Connor and Riley Bowers, Robert J. and Mia Rinaldi, and Alex and Madison Toole; great-granddaughter, Ainsley Bowers; great-nephew, Mark Bowers Matysczak; other family and friends will miss him very much.
Joe's entire family is grateful for the loving, compassionate care he received from the staff of Highland Park and Allied Services Hospice Center.
Celebration of Joe's Life begins Sunday, February 11, 2024, with visitation from 12 to 4 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues there on Monday, February 12, 2024, with gathering at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
Donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, michaeljfox.org , are preferred and will honor Joe's memory.
