Joseph S. Dell'Aglio, 85, of Wilkes-Barre died Saturday at Hospice Community Care.
Born 30 January 1924 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Anthony and the late Anna Pietrafessa Dell'Aglio.
Joseph was a member of the Class of 1942 of G.A.R. Memorial High School.
A veteran of World War II, he served as an airplane instrument mechanic with the 4267th Army Air Force Unit in the European Theater and earned the rank of Sergeant.
Joseph started his career in the textile industry at Hess Goldsmith and later worked for Newark Silk Mill before retiring from American Silk Mills in Plains in 1989.
He was a member of the Parish of St. Therese in Wilkes-Barre and Bishop William J. Hafey Assembly, Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus Council 302 in Wilkes-Barre.
His wife of sixty years, Helen Galanti Dell'Aglio died 4 June 2008. Brothers, Mario and Alfonso Dell'Aglio also preceded him in death.
Surviving are his children, Mary Ann and her husband Richard Augaitis of Wilkes-Barre and Robert and his wife Sheryn Dell'Aglio of Plains, grandson, Eric and his wife Heather Augaitis of Ashley, great-granddaughters, Addison and Ainsley Augaitis
Funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM from McLaughlin Family Funeral Service,142 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in Church of Saint Therese. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hanover Township.
