Jule Ann Hughes Conlon, 80, of Bluffton, South Carolina and a longtime resident of Wilkes-Barre died Wednesday, August 26th in South Carolina.
Born March 3, 1935 in Danville she was a daughter of the late Edwin W. and Jule Mulhern Hughes.
Jule Ann was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
A registered nurse, she practiced at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre and Mount Carmel East in Columbus, Ohio prior to retirement.
She was a member of the parishes of Saint Therese in Wilkes-Barre and Holy Spirit in Columbus where she was active in their choirs. Most recently she was a member at Saint Peter's Catholic Church in Beaufort.
Jule Ann will be greatly missed by her longtime companion, Mike Comery; children, Bill and his wife Caroline Conlon of Florida, Lisa and her husband Rob Sliker of Wilkes-Barre, Katie and her husband Tom Jupena of South Carolina, Charles M. ‘Chip’ and his wife Allison Conlon of Oregon and Christopher and his wife Laurel Conlon of West Chester; grandchildren, Colleen, Patrick and Shane Conlon, Christina Holvey, Caitlyn Holvey Shatley, Devon Holvey, Alexander Sliker, Taylor, Cameron, Kevin and Zachary Jupena, and Mollie Jule Conlon; great-grandchildren, Teagen Benner, Kenzie Holvey, Gavin Thomas-Holvey and Gabriel Shatley; sisters, Iva H. Hanlon of Wilkes-Barre and Roberta Feldman of Florida; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Jule Ann’s entire family is grateful for the loving, compassionate care shared with her by the care staff of Summit Place and Tidewater Hospice.
Celebration of Jule Ann’s Life will begin Friday with visitation from 6 to 8 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there Saturday with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery.
