Jule Carr

February 23, 1905 — March 14, 2009

Jule Martin Carr, 104, formerly of Spring Street in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre died Saturday at Mercy Center in Dallas.

Born 23 February 1905 in Pringle, the daughter of the late Patrick and Bridget Walsh Martin, she attended Pringle schools.
Jule married the former Captain of the Bureau of Fire of the City of Wilkes-Barre, Hugh A. Carr and moved to East End in 1927.
Mrs. Carr was an active member of Holy Saviour Parish for seventy-three years before moving to Mercy Center. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Quilting Club and East End Senior Citizens.
Jule was known for her pleasant manner, positive attitude and keen sense of humor.

Her husband died in 1968. Sons, Robert P. and Hugh A. Carr, and her six brothers, John, William, James, Frank, Harry and Ted Martin also preceded her in death.

Surviving are:
daughters: Maurita Buhsmer of Berwyn and Jule Leonard of Allentown
sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-greatgrandchildren

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 AM in Blessed Sacrament Chapel at Mercy Center in Dallas. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.

Friends may call Wednesday 9:30 to 11 AM at Blessed Sacrament Chapel.
