Karen E. Carr, 66, of Allentown, passed away on August 8, 2022.
Born May 28, 1956 in Kingston she was a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Edith Ramsey Carr.
Karen graduated from Central Catholic High School and earned her degree from Misericordia University.
Karen's decades-long food service career started with The Wood Company in Allentown. She was devoted to her work as the food service director at Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation. She was a fierce advocate for the care and welfare of the staff and residents there before retiring from Sodexo in March.
An enthusiastic fan of Notre Dame Football, she lived for those gamedays and also enjoyed her summer trips to the Jersey Shore. Karen had a great passion for life and brought a lot of fun to the family.
Her siblings Debbie and her husband Jim Poperowitz of Kingston, Patricia and her husband Jim Duffy of Alexandria, VA, and Tom Carr of Kingston; nieces and nephews Kelly, Meghan, Erin, Michael, and Keaton; great-nephews Gianni, Jack, and Liam; other family and friends will miss her very much.
Karen's entire family is grateful for the kindness and compassion she received from the Saint Luke's Allentown Campus staff.
Celebration of Karen's Life begins Sunday, August 14, 2022, with visitation from 3 to 5 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues there on Monday, August 15, 2022, with a gathering at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:15 AM in the Church of Saint Ignatius in Kingston.
