On October 7, 2022, Karen E. Spagnola passed away peacefully with her daughter and granddaughter at her side.
Born September 13, 1950 in Ithaca, NY she was a daughter of the late Ronald McAlarney and Elizabeth Lapp McAlarney.
Karen was a 1968 graduate of St. Gabriel's High School in Hazleton.
Before retirement, Karen worked in customer service at Citizens Bank.
Karen had a great sense of humor and was never at a loss for a witty remark. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, classic movies, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a love of American and European history. Karen was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was very passionate about politics and was a proud lifelong Democrat. Karen was a true animal lover and cherished her pets.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ronald W. Spagnola, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage.
She will be greatly missed by daughter Tara E. Fox; granddaughter Megan E. Gallagher; sister & brother in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Karen's entire family is grateful for the care provided by healthcare professionals at The Gardens East Mountain, Ed and Andree from Pathway Home Health, and her nurse in her final hours, Jade, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.
Karen's family will celebrate her life privately.
