Katherine ‘Kitty’ Girton, 95, of Kingston died Monday at Manor Care in Kingston.
Born September 11, 1915 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late John T. and Mary Ellen McGee Reid.
Kitty was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School.
Mrs. Girton was employed for many years by Interstate Brands and its predecessor, Blue Ribbon Bakery, until its closing. She later worked for Continental Data Processing before retiring.
Kitty was a member of the Parish of Saint Ignatius Loyola, its Altar and Rosary Society and Senior Citizens Club and Saint Therese's Senior Citizens.
Her husband, John T. Girton died in 2005. A sister, Elizabeth Reid also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, : John T. 'Skip' and his wife Camille Girton of Windsor, Colorado, Maribeth Girton of Kingston and Kathy and her husband Joseph Christopher of Courtdale; grandchildren, Justin Girton of Virginia, Michelle Christopher of Forty Fort and Brian Christopher of Souderton.
Kitty’s Life will be Celebrated in a Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10:30 AM in Church of Saint Ignatius Loyola, 339 North Maple Avenue in Kingston. Entombment will be in Saint Mary's Mausoleum in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held in the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM
