Kathleen D. Kane, 88, of East South Street in Wilkes-Barre passed away Wednesday night.
Born September 25, 1924 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Essex and Kathleen Donahue Williams.
Kathleen was a graduate of Saint Ann's Academy.
Mrs. Kane was assigned to the Heights-Murray Elementary School for many years before retiring from the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.
A member of the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima, she was a communicant at the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Kathleen was a member of Saint Ann's Academy Alumnae Association and National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and volunteered her time at John Heinz Institute.
Her husband, James J. Kane died February 17, 1994.
She will be greatly missed by her children; James J. Kane, Jr. of Wilkes-Barre, Kathleen K. and her husband Robert Wallace of Arnold, Maryland, Kevin J. and his wife Michele Kane of Wilkes-Barre, and Michael J. and his wife Margaret Kane of Ashley; grandchildren, Melissa, Mary and Michael Wallace, Sean and Katie Kane, Amy Konetski and Allison Kane; niece, Maryanne Panepinto and nephews, Thomas and Martin Kane.
Celebration of Kathleen’s Life will be held Saturday at 8:30 AM from McLaughlin's - The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
