Kathleen A. Vogt, 68, of Bear Creek Village passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Berwyn.
Born January 28, 1945, in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Bryce Drugan.
A graduate of G.A.R. Memorial High School, Kathleen and earned her Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Certificate from Misericordia University.
Although Kathleen’s passing was premature, she left a lasting impression in the hearts and minds of hundreds of students as a life-long educator and most importantly in those of her own children and grandchildren. Kathleen relished her role as a teacher and nothing brought her more personal satisfaction than the experiences she shared with students, faculty, and staff at both South Wilkes-Barre Playschool and Saint Nicholas - Saint Mary’s School, where she served as an educator for more than forty years.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her sister, Aileen Miller and brother, Joseph A. Drugan, Jr.
Kathleen’s greatest joy was found in her beloved family. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Harry Vogt of Bear Creek Village; her children and their spouses, Harry Vogt, III and his wife Lois of Arkansas; Eric Vogt and his wife Mary Ann of Mountain Top; Aileen Taylor and her husband John of Bear Creek Village; and Cathie Mault and her husband Colin of Berwyn; her grandchildren, Madison and Connor Vogt of Arkansas; Eric Jr., Julia and Justin Vogt of Mountain Top; Evan, Arden and Ryan Taylor of Bear Creek Village; and Nola and Desmond Mault of Berwyn; and other family and friends.
Celebration of Kathleen's Life will be held Wednesday at 8:30 AM from McLaughlin's – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM.
