Mae Hornick, 92, formerly of Washington Square Apartments and a longtime resident of Wilkes-Barre Township died Thursday at Saint Luke's Villa.
Born Mary Theresa Hebert on February 7, 1921 in Wilkes-Barre Township she was the daughter of the late Lawrence L. and Mary Snee Hebert.
Mae worked for Percy Brown's Cafeteria and Hess and Goldsmith. Until retirement, Mae was employed in the activities department of Valley Crest Nursing Home.
Her husband, Daniel A. Hornick, died in 1981.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Kathleen Simpson Frantz and her husband Carl Frantz of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Larry Simpson of Laurel Run; grandchildren, Colleen Kendle, Michelle Kirby, Carl Frantz and Ashley Simpson; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ryan Kendle, Danny and Patrick Kirby, Justus Simpson and Jaiden Williams.
Celebration of Mae's Life will be held Tuesday with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception, 130 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
