Margaret Ann McAneny McGraw, 77, a lifetime resident of the East End section of Wilkes-Barre died Thursday, July 20, 2017.
Born November 18, 1939 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late William J. ‘CornCob’ and Anna Moore McAneny.
Peggy Ann was a graduate of Holy Saviour School, Saint Mary’s High School. She earned her BA in Education from Misericordia University in 1961 and continued her education through numerous certification courses throughout her career.
Peggy Ann was a teacher in business education at Wallenpaupack High School for a few years before accepting a position with the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. She taught business education at Meyers High School where she was head of the department and also served as business education coordinator for the district before retiring in 1995 after thirty-three years of service.
Having had great faith, Peggy Ann was a lifetime member of the Parish of Holy Saviour and its successor, the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette, through which she developed a special bond in spiritual advisement and communion with Sr. Madonna Figura, SSCM.
Peggy Ann enjoyed spending time and traveling with family and friends. She was a life member of the NEA and PSEA.
Her husband, Chief Petty Officer Thomas J. McGraw died while on active duty on January 31, 1973.
Peggy Ann will be greatly missed by her son, John Price of East End; many cousins and friends.
Celebration of Peggy Ann’s Life will be held Wednesday with visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue with a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in the Church of Saint Stanislaus Kostka. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
