Marilyn Kelchner Talbert, 82, of Wilkes-Barre died Thursday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born January 31, 1931 in Forty Fort she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Conrad Kelchner.
Marilyn attended Forty Fort High School and graduated from Wyoming Seminary in 1949. She earned her baccalaureate degree from Saint Lawrence University in Baldwin, New York in 1953.
Marilyn and her husband, Richard taught at the school at Raimey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico for ten years before returning to live in Kinderhook, New York. She retired from employment with the State of New York in Albany and returned to Wyoming Valley in 1993.
Marilyn was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Yankees.
Her husband, Richard and son, Thomas preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Nancy Talbert of Plymouth; cousins, Ruth Kelly, Dr. James Kelly, Mary Ruth Burke and Michael Kelly; and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held Saturday with a Funeral Mass at noon in the Church of Saint Dominic, 155 Austin Avenue in the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre.
