Marlene Kieran Dante, 79, of Old Carverton Road in Trucksville ended her courageous battle with cancer and entered into eternal rest in the presence of her family on Wednesday at her home.
Born January 28, 1931 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Francis P. and Irene Duclos Kieran.
Marlene was a graduate of Saint Mary's High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College.
Prior to marriage, Marlene was an operator for Bell Telephone Company. After raising her family she returned to work at RCA in Mountain Top and Valley Crest and Heritage House nursing homes before retiring.
Her husband, Arnold H. Dante, died June 11, 1991. A grandson, Anthony Kashnicki also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, Linda Dante of Kingston, Elaine and her husband Angelo Randazzo of Kingston, Cheryl Banashefski of Wyoming, Michelle Dante of Plains, Michael and his wife Lynda Dante of Mountain Top and Suzanne Dante of Trucksville; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara and her husband Lauren Samsel of Ocala, Florida; and her faithful companion, Mia
Celebration of Marlene’s Life will be held Monday at 10:00 AM from McLaughlin's Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin’s on Sunday from 4 to 7 PM
