Martha V. Lenahan, a longtime resident of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully at her residence in Kingston on Sunday, October 21, 2018.
Born in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Janosov Saraka.
Martha was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School.
Martha started her career as a sales associate with Fowler, Dick and Walker's The Boston Store in 1968 and retired from Boscov's in 2010.
Martha was a member of the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima and communicant at the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
A sister, Betty Bauer, and brothers, Thomas and John D. Saraka, preceded her in death.
Martha will be greatly missed by her husband, Martin A. (Shingles / Buddy) Lenahan with whom she celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on July 18th; daughters, Martina Lenahan and Colleen and her husband Vince Sperduto; grandchildren, Patrick Lenahan and Amanda and Vincent Sperduto; sister, Jean Decker; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Martha's entire family is grateful for the compassionate care she received from Celtic Home Health and Hospice.
Celebration of Martha's Life will begin Wednesday with visitation from 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there on Thursday with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception with Father Vincent Dang as celebrant. Interment will be in Saint Charles Cemetery in Sugar Notch.
Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to the American Heart Association.
