Mary Carrano, 68, of Wilkes-Barre died unexpectedly on Monday.
Born June 10, 1948 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary LaMas Carrano.
Mary earned her BA in psychology from Wilkes University and completed graduate coursework in experimental psychology at Fordham.
Mary was a customer care specialist for Lord & Taylor. She previously taught gerontology at King’s College for a few years, was a part time teller for M&T Bank, a licensed realtor and worked for the Luzerne/Wyoming Counties Bureau for the Aging for more than twenty years.
Mary was a member of the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima and communicant at the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. She spoke fluent French and loved singing and playing piano.
Mary will be greatly missed by her cousins, Lorraine Lagonegro Dolan of Myrtle Beach, SC, John Perotti of Queens, NY, Shirley Scott, Michele Sommerville, Angela (John) LaMas Hoolick and Loretta Brandt; other family and friends.
Celebration of Mary’s Life will begin Thursday with visitation from 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there on Friday with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
