Mary Croughn Noyalis

Mary Croughn Noyalis, 86, of Lee Park Avenue in Hanover Township died Monday in Hospice Community Care.

Born 21 September 1922 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late James K. and the late Martha Coulter Croughn.

Mary was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School.

Mrs. Noyalis was employed in both the treasurer's and mayor's offices of the City of Wilkes-Barre before becoming head bookkeeper of the Luzerne County Tax Claim Bureau.

Mary worked hard throughout her life to assist in supporting her family. She loved dancing and was an enthusiastic reader and Scrabble player.

Her greatest love was her family. 'Murph', as she was referred to fondly, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her dedication, support and unwavering love will be greatly missed.

Her husband, Frank J. Noyalis, died in 1996. A sister, Jean Yazbeck and brothers, James, William, Edward and Lawrence also preceded her in death.

Surviving are children;
Doreen Fitzmaurice and her husband John of Hanover Township and James Noyalis and his wife Vickie of Hanover Township
Grandchildren, Heather Fitzmaurice Myers, J. and Kevin Fitzmaurice and Eric and Jamie Noyalis, two great-grandchildren,
Sister, Maureen Bukavich of Nanticoke and numerous nieces and nephews

Funeral will be held Thursday at 09:30 AM from McLaughlin Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Church of Saint Nicholas. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
