Mary E. Pierson, 73, of South Wilkes-Barre died Monday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born March 11th 1936 in Scranton she was a daughter of the late Arthur S. and Harriet Cottrell Loveland.

Mary was a 1954 graduate of Scranton Technical High School.

Before retiring, Mary was employed in the human resources department of Mellon Bank and its predecessor, United Penn Bank for many years.

Mary was a member of First Church of Christ in Wilkes-Barre and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. They were the light of her life.

Mary will be reunited with her husband of fifty-four years, Robert L. Pierson, who died June 28th 2008.

Surviving are her daughters: Margie and her husband Patrick O'Boyle of Glendale, Arizona and Laura and her husband Mike Szoke of Wilkes-Barre, grandsons, Patrick O'Boyle and his companion, Jaileigh McIntyre, Kevin O'Boyle, Keith and his wife Naomi O'Boyle, Steve Nordheim and his fiancé, Amy Vaclav and Scott Nordheim, great granddaughters, Taryn O'Boyle and Melody Limon, sister Janet Martindale of Wilkes-Barre and brother, William and his wife Sharon Loveland of Moosic and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Mary’s Life will be led by her pastor, Reverend Andy Wilson on Friday at 09:00 AM at McLaughlin's Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park in Carverton.
