Michael A. Barberio, 55, of Wilkes-Barre died Monday at his home.
Born September 29, 1959 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late John A. and Helen G. Kellar Barberio.
A professional plasterer, Michael was trained in the art by C & R Haas. He later worked for John Lewis and DeFrain plastering before retiring.
Michael loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a great fan of NASCAR, Charles Bronson films and the music of Bob Seger.
His brother, Gary, step-son, J.J. Kelly, niece, Terri Barberio and nephews, Michael and Jeremy Cook preceded him in death.
Michael will be greatly missed by his wife, the former Agnes Kelly; son, Michael A., Jr. of Wilkes-Barre; siblings, John A. and his wife Linda of Wilkes-Barre, Larry F. and his wife Martha of Wilkes-Barre, James J. and his wife Mary Jo of Ashley, Mary and her husband Joseph Langan of Wilkes-Barre, Shirley and her husband Walter Derby of West Nanticoke and Charles J. and his wife Chrissy of Wilkes-Barre; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Kowallic; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Michael's entire family is grateful to the staff of Caregivers America and Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Jen, Maricia, Lynn and Llyanna, for the loving care they shared with him.
Celebration of Michael’s Life will begin Wednesday with visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and continue Thursday with services at noon at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
