Patricia Finnegan, 81, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away in the presence of her loving family on Friday, March 11, 2022.
Pat was born on August 30, 1940. She attended Meyers High School, followed by Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. In 1961, Pat began her career as a registered nurse upon graduation from nursing school. She worked at Mercy Hospital in Wilkes-Barre for thirty years. She also worked at First Valley Hospital, the State Correctional Institution-Retreat, and as a private duty nurse.
Pat was a caring and devoted wife, mother, and "Grammy". She greatly enjoyed traveling and exploring with her husband, Frank, whom she loved dearly. Pat cherished any time spent with her children, grandchildren, and sisters. She was an incredible listener and cared deeply for those around her. Pat had the ability to make anyone feel like her friend. She was known for always having a camera in her hand, ready to capture each and every moment. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void for those who knew and loved her.
Pat was predeceased in death by her mother, Doris Gildea Williams, and her grandparents, Nellie and Mathew Feest, who were instrumental in raising her.
Pat is survived by her husband of twenty-seven years, Frank Jones; her former husband and the father of her children, William T. Finnegan, Sr.; her sons, Attorney William T. Finnegan, Jr. and his wife Jody, Brian P. Finnegan, and Kevin M. Finnegan and his wife Milva; her daughter, Chris Ann Welsh and her husband Jay; her stepchildren, Niki Kutchi and her husband Rob, Jim Jones and his wife Melanie, and Jami Atherton; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Le and her husband Anh, Rachel, Katherine, Kristen, and Ian Finnegan, Myla, Melina, and Timo Finnegan, Ryan, Megan, Erin and Evan Welsh; her step-grandchildren, Aidan, Calum, Zora, and Leo Kutchi, Kayleigh and Jordan Jones, and Rhys and Anya Atherton; her loving sisters, Dorie Zinn and her husband Keith, Ellie Williams and her partner Ellen Malone, Debbie McGrath and her husband Tom; her stepbrother, Ronald Williams and his wife Irless; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Her family and many wonderful friends will truly miss Pat.
Celebration of Pat's Life begins Friday, March 18, 2022 with visitation from 5 to 7 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues on Saturday, March 19, 2022 with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas, 226 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre.
Flowers or Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge contributions will honor Pat's memory and are equally welcome.
