Pauline Therese Dougherty, Poochie, 79, of Wilkes-Barre died Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born October 3, 1941 in Swoyersville she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Carusso Matello.
Pauline was a graduate of Swoyersville High School.
Mrs. Dougherty was a teacher's aide for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District for many years. She also sold home wicker items and floral arrangements.
Pauline was a member of the Parish of Saint Robert Bellarmine and longtime communicant at the Church of Saint Aloysius.
Pauline had great love for her family. She enjoyed vacationing at Ocean City, New Jersey, visiting the casino, and playing cards with family and friends.
Her husband, Anthony Cornelius Dougherty, II, and their son, Anthony Cornelius Dougherty, III, preceded her in death.
Pauline's children, Mary Therese Dougherty-McDowell of Shavertown, Pauline A. Dougherty-Welch of Medford, New Jersey, Jean M Dougherty-Sam of West Chester, and Steven Dougherty of Davenport, Florida; grandchildren, Ryan and Sean Welch, Rachel Welch Hickey, Anthony and Gillian Sam, Stephen, Logan, and Jordan Dougherty, Tatum and Paige Dougherty; great-grandchildren, Grace and Kayla Welch; sisters, Verna Castillo and Stephanie Pryor Capezio; brother, Joseph Matello; nieces, nephews, other family and friends will miss her much.
Pauline's family will celebrate her life privately at this time.
