Peter P. Minetola

October 12, 1917 — July 15, 2013

Peter P. Minetola, 95, a longtime resident of Vulcan Street in Wilkes-Barre died Monday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.

Born October 12, 1917 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late John and Carmella Stotsi Minetola.

Pete was a member of the Class of 1935 of G.A.R. Memorial High School.

A Navy veteran of World War II he served in the Pacific Theater.

Pete operated coal and trucking businesses before starting the family masonry contracting firm which he operated until his retirement.

Mr. Minetola was a member of the Parish of Saint Andrew and a communicant at the Church of Saint Patrick. He was also a member of the Saint John Neumann Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

His wife, Mary Anna Polto Minetola died October 8, 2002. Brothers, John, Martin and Patrick Minetola also preceded him in death.

He will be greatly missed by his son, Patrick of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Victor and Albert; a sister, Mary; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Celebration of Peter’s Life was held Wednesday with a Funeral Mass in the Church of Saint Patrick. Entombment was in the Resurrection Mausoleum at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.

Peter’s family was assisted with arrangements by McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service.
