Rita McCabe, 82, of Hanover Township, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
Born March 21, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Francis and Catherine Glennon McCabe.
Rita retired after many years in various administrative positions in human services with The Salvation Army, Mental Health Association, Caron Foundation, and HCC Home Health Hospice. Rita also worked in the library at King's College and for many years at Vic-Mar's.
Rita's sisters Catherine McCabe, Maureen Paulson, and Patricia Scavone preceded her in death.
Her family brought the greatest joy to her life. Her sons Bill of Dallas and Michael of Alexandria, Virginia; grandchildren Cassandra, Gary, Jenna, Kaitlynn, William, Ivory, Malakai, Van, Levon, Riley, Casey, and Kennedy; great-grandchildren Liam, Stella, Victor, Romeo, Nora, and David; brother James and his wife Maureen McCabe of Blue Bell; many nieces and nephews, other family and friends will miss her very much.
Celebration of Rita's Life begins Thursday, March 14, 2024, with visitation from 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues there on Friday, March 15, 2024, with gathering beginning at 9 AM and a prayer service at 10 AM.
