Roberta Pommerer Berenzy, 82, died Thursday at Heritage House in Wilkes-Barre.
Born June 12, 1928 in Margaretville, New York she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ada Esping Pommerer.
A graduate of the School of Fine Arts of Syracuse University, Roberta continued graduate studies at the New School in New York City.
Roberta was the art director for the Chester Roth Company, colorist for Cohn, Hall, Marx and illustrator and cartoonist for children’s books at Hart Publishing Company in New York City. After leaving the city, Roberta freelanced in advertising design in northern New Jersey and produced watercolors for local shows and private collections.
Surviving are her children: Alix Berenzy of Plymouth, Alan Berenzy of Montana and Dale and his wife Sheri Berenzy of Florida; grandsons: Danny and Ray Berenzy; a brother: Robert and his wife Linda Pommerer of Saratoga Springs, NY
Celebration of Roberta’s Life will be held Wednesday at 1 PM at McLaughlin's Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover, New Jersey.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin’s on Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM
