Ronald James Johnson, Sr., of Hudson, 79, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2021.
Born October 18, 1942 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Maurice and Agnes Dolan Johnson.
A graduate of Coughlin High School, Ronald enlisted in the Army and served in the 82nd Airborne for three years.
Ronald drove for IDC for more than twenty years and the Luzerne County Transportation Department until retiring.
Ronald resided in Hudson with his outstanding caretakers, his daughter, Kimberly, and son-in-law, Paul Cole.
Ronald’s ultimate pleasure was watching his grandsons, Paul Cole, Jr. and Jake Cole, play sports. He never missed one baseball or football game or wrestling meet. He was always cheering them on as their greatest and loudest fan.
Ronald was our rock. He had such enormous love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Sadly, he will be missed by all but will live on in our hearts.
His wife, Sherry Clark Johnson, died on February 2, 1995. A twin brother, Raymond; brothers, Maurice, Edwin, Earl, and Donald Johnson; and sisters, Marlene Scott, Jean Wisnesky, and Joan Niedzweski, also preceded him in death.
His children, Ronald (Donna) Johnson, Denise (Rob) Marchetti, and Kimberly (Paul) Cole; grandchildren, Alexandra (Devin) Green, Cassidy, Paul, and Jacob Cole; great-grandchildren, Sophia, DJ, and Rhylee; brother, Thomas Johnson; sister, Lois Winsor; other family and friends will miss him very much.
Ronald's family is celebrating his life privately.
