Rose Marie Royal Smith

Rose Marie Royal Smith, 83, formerly of Edwardsville died Wednesday at Little Flower Manor.

Born October 22, 1930 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Henry L. and Frances Ramlow Royal.

Rose Marie was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in Norristown. As a licensed practical nurse she focused on home health care throughout her career.

Her brother, Henry L. Royal and sister, Joanne Royal preceded her in death.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Deborah Yedlock of Wilkes-Barre, Joanne Balconis of Exeter and Francis A. Smith of Newtown; grandchildren, Heather Wilson, Anthony John Balconis, Rainah Anne and Mariel Therese Yedlock; great-grandchildren, Phoebe, Thomas and Liam Wilson; other family and friends.

Rose Marie's entire family is grateful for the loving care she received from the staff of Little Flower Manor.

Celebration of Rose Marie’s Life will be held Saturday at 9 AM from McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Leo the Great. Interment will be in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery in Nanticoke.

Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
