Rose Ann Young joined the Lord on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
Born October 28, 1942 in Luzerne she was a daughter of the late Florence Opiel Ritter and Reginald Keefe.
Rose worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for many years at the Summit Health Care Center in Wilkes-Barre.
A long-term member of the VFW Kingston Auxiliary, Rose was a Social Butterfly member with the Red Hat Society in Wilkes-Barre. She enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and loved dancing. She was a member of the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Wilkes-Barre.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Young and her daughter, Nina Young.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, John Walton and his wife, Foxie, Wilkes-Barre; Raymond Walton and his wife, Susan, Mountain Top; Robert Young, Cresco; and daughter, Rose Hernandez and her husband Marcos, Shavertown; grandchildren Andrea, Erika, Raymond, Abigale, Robbie, and Lyrica; great-grandson, Peter; cousins, in-laws and friends.
Rose’s entire family is grateful for the loving care she received from the caregivers at Timber Ridge and Kingston Manor, and from Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
Celebration of Rose’s Life will begin Friday with visitation from 6 to 8 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there on Saturday with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
