Ruth R. Bauer, 61, of Wilkes-Barre died Thursday.
Born June 5, 1954 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Anthony C. and Betty Tippins Bauer.
Ruth was a member of the Class of 1972 of G.A.R. Memorial High School and was employed by Luzerne Optical for the past thirty-five years.
Ruth was a talented dart thrower who competed in leagues at McCarthy's, Krutski's, Cal Jones' and the Ukrainian Club. She enjoyed playing bean bag toss and her many trips to the casinos of Atlantic City. She was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Florida State Seminoles, New York Yankees and NASCAR, with her favor leaning to Tony Stewart.
A sister, Rosemarie Kocher preceded her in death.
Ruth will be greatly missed by her sister and brothers, Phyllis Baranousky, Tom Link and Anthony Bauer of Wilkes-Barre; nieces, nephews, other family and friends, and her baby, Peanuts.
Ruth's entire family is grateful for the loving, compassionate care shared with her by the nurses and staff of Riverstreet Manor.
Celebration of Ruth’s Life will begin Sunday with visitation from 5 to 8 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there Monday with services at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
