Sheila Mooney Gordon, 73, of Shickshinny Lake entered eternal life on Saturday.
Born October 21, 1936 in New Haven, Connecticut she was the only child of the late Terence and Nan Connors Mooney.
Sheila graduated from Saint Mary's High School in New Haven where she was a cheerleader. She worked at Southern New England Telephone Company, as a legal secretary for attorneys Belford and Belford in New Haven, and for various retail companies. However, for most of her life she was a homemaker, serving as family mediator and maintaining her high school supporting role of cheerleader.
Sheila and her husband, Al would have celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary on September 16th.
Intelligent and athletic, she had a great sense of humor, loved swimming, and was an excellent dancer.
Sheila loved the serenity of her lake home at Shickshinny Lake for the last sixteen years and previously resided in Tennessee and Virginia.
A caring mother, grandmother and wife, Sheila will be deeply missed by her husband, Albert, daughter, Erin, son, John and his wife Carmen, grandson Jesse and granddaughter, Natalie, and nieces and nephews through marriage.
Celebration of Sheila’s Life will be held Wednesday at 1 PM in the Chapel at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
