Theodora Stempien Janosov,76, passed away with her friends at her side at her home on Saturday afternoon, September 7, 2024.
Her grandparents lovingly raised Teddi in Nanticoke, and she graduated from Greater Nanticoke Area High School. She made Sheatown her home with her best friend and husband, Robert Janosov until he died in 2005.
Teddi worked at Luzerne County Community College for 53 years, the majority of which were as the Secretary for the Student Life & Athletics Department. In this position, she met and mentored many young people who remain in contact with her to this day.
In addition to her work at the College, Teddi was on the Board of the Wyoming Valley Athletic Association for 25 years and its Treasurer for five years. She volunteered with Valley Santa, FineArts Fiesta, Osterhout Library, Back Mountain Library Auction, the SPCA, and the Family Service Association. To all of the above organizations, Teddi always gave her fullest.
Teddi is survived by the following members of her husband, Bob's, family, that she took as her own: Stacy and Ron Gansfuss and their children Kelly and her husband, Nick Lambing, and Christopher and his partner, Garrett Luzi; Erin and Greg Czarnecki and their child Holly; and Tarra and Peter Stevenson and their children Presley, Philip, and Sarah.
Teddi also had many, many friends who she loved and who loved her as family. She loved the animal companions who were always in her home: Quincy, Gabby, Sprite, Otis, Mulligan, Mecet, and Tempy.
