Therese O'Hara, 73, of Penn Yan, New York died Wednesday at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital.
Born February 18, 1940 in Endicott, New York she was a daughter of the late William A. and Elizabeth Lynch O'Hara.
A graduate of Saint Agnes High School in Towanda, Therese earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Misericordia University.
Before retiring a few years ago, Therese taught music in schools of the Copenhagen, Prattsburgh and Penn Yan central school districts of New York.
Therese played the organ for a few churches in the Penn Yan area.
Her brothers, William J. and Raymond J. O'Hara preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her sister, Patricia Gainer of Levittown; twelve nieces and nephews; great-nieces and –nephews, other family and friends.
Celebration of Therese’s Life will be held Monday at 8:30 AM from McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM.
