Thomas J. Borum, 65, of Mountain Top died Monday at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Born March 11, 1949 in Wilkes-Barre Township he was a son of the late John and Catherine Sabulski Borum.
Tom attended Wilkes-Barre Township schools.
Prior to retiring in 2012 he was employed by Eastern Penn Supply Company.
A member of the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima, Tom was a communicant at the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 302 and Teamsters Local 401 and coached for Saint Joseph's Youth Baseball League for several years.
Tom's greatest enjoyment in life came from attending every sporting event his grandchildren participated in. He was their greatest fan and he loved his family and grandchildren dearly.
Brothers, Peter and Michael Borum and a sister, Sandra Seacrist preceded him in death.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of forty-four years, the former Patrice Durkin; son, Thomas P. and his wife Jonelle Borum of Mountain Top; grandchildren, Colleen and Thomas M. Borum; brothers, Martin and Anthony Borum of Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Joyce Grohowski of Ashley, Geraldine Burke of Hanover Township, Catherine Koscielski of Kingston, Barbara Sarbaugh of Forty Fort and Doreen Bozek of Wilkes-Barre Township; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Tom's family is grateful for the loving, compassionate care shared with him by the entire staff of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and his doctors, Noelle Frey, MD and J. Charles Lentini, MD
Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held Friday at 8:30 AM from McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM.
